Tell us a bit about yourself, how did your career in the fashion industry get started?
I have always been passionate about creative design and unique fashion. I started my journey through in 2008 in Mexico with my own handmade jewelry brand, GMaccesorio. I also designed clothes for myself, friends and family, always helping them style their pieces in the best way.
When I moved to Miami, I continued designing my clothing line of custom made gowns in Mexico, GMSpeciallyMade, where I also offered full-look styling services.
I always say that Fashion Styling found me. Right after I moved to Miami, a very talented local designer called me to help him with the styling of his lookbook for his new collection, and that's what it took for me to see Fashion Styling as part of what I loved to do day in and day out.
I decided to gain more experience by taking some local certificate courses, which took me to some very special work opportunities. I am very happy and honored to now be considered as part of Miami’s amazing fashion community and work alongside important brands as a fashion influencer, making my personal style a part of my brand and business.
How would you describe your personal style?
Eclectic, Creative, High Fashion with a touch of retro and a vintage heart.
Where do you draw inspiration from?
I love the challenge of combining fashion-forward items with a great vintage or thrifted piece but, to be honest, I don’t take much time to prepare my looks, I like to not overthink.
For me, it's very important to be properly dressed for the occasion but without losing the creativity of a spontaneous moment.
Who are some of your style icons/muses?
Giovanna Battaglia, Evangelie Smyrniotaki, María Felix and of course Mrs. Coco C.
What are your favorite trends this season?
I am loving the Bermudas with oversized blazers, which I think is a uniform keeper if you live in Miami.
What do you think is the best accessory to take a look to the next level?
Sunglasses, Hats, and Belts.
What is your advice for emerging stylists that are looking to break into the fashion industry?
Always have a giant smile for others and be nice to everyone no matter who it is. Participate in every aspect of the jobs you taken, that’s the only way to know what you really like and your strengths. After that: focus, work hard and always be true to yourself. Never see someone else as a comparison because you're just wasting time instead of focusing on your own goals.
Have a real DNA and identity to develop a unique service or product, nowadays there is a lot of everything, but if you do what you love and you do it for you, not for others, your work will speak for itself.
